7th International Conference on Environmental Compliance and Enforcement

Summary of Services: This conference brought together 188 participants from approximately 63 countries for a conference in Marrakech, Morrocco, on 9-15 April 2005. In support of the INECE Secretariat and Durwood Zaelke, its Director, Earthpace worked to develop the Conference program, recruit speakers, provide pre-conference communications, manage the participant database, oversee the on-site Conference management, produce two proceedings books, and provide post-conference follow-up. Earthpace also created e-mail forms, an interactive Web site, and on-line registration to expedite our communication and reduce costs.

INECE-Environment Agency (England and Wales) International Conference on Compliance and Enforcement of Trading Schemes in Environmental Protection

Summary of Services: Earthpace worked with INECE and Environment Agency (environment-agency.gov.uk) to facilitate an international conference on the compliance and enforcement aspects of emission trading schemes. Earthpace coordinated conference logistics (including the Agenda) with INECE and the Environment Agency (England and Wales); contributed significantly to the development of the conference background paper; identified participants and speakers from the INECE network; and prepared a Web site to provide access to the Conference Agenda, speaker presentations, and speaker biographies. http://inece.org/emissions/index.html

INECE-OECD Expert Workshop on Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Indicators: Measuring What Matters

Summary of Services: Earthpace facilitated interaction between INECE and the Organization for Economic Development and Cooperation (oecd.org) to organize and implement an expert-level, international workshop on Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Indicators, one of INECE's main projects. Prior to the Workshop, Earthpace participated in conference calls and amyl exchanges to plan the conference; and developed a Web page on the INECE site to provide logistics, background information, and copies of presentations. Subsequent to the Workshop, Earthpace assisted in the development of the proceedings including drafting the Workshop Summary and Conclusions and editing Country Reports. The Final Proceedings were posted on the INECE Web site and were collated into a fully hyperlinked PDF file for internal use at INECE and OECD.

Summary of Services: This conference brought together 170 participants from approximately 80 countries for a five-day conference in Costa Rica. In support of the INECE Secretariat and Durwood Zaelke, its Director, Earthpace worked to develop the Conference program, recruit speakers, provide pre-conference communications, manage the participant database, oversee the on-site Conference management, produce two proceedings books, and provide post-conference follow-up. Earthpace created e-mail forms, an interactive Web site, and on-line registration to expedite our communication and reduce costs. In addition, we worked with consulates in many countries to enable easy issuance of visas for the purpose of making last minute attendance possible.

A View from Space: Digital Earth Applications for Environmental Law and Resource Management

Summary of Services: This one-day workshop brought together over 60 attorneys, environmental managers and remote sensing specialists at American University in Washington, DC. Earthpace was responsible for all aspects of this day-long Workshop including inviting speakers and guests; reserving appropriate locations for the Workshops; preparing conference handouts and name tags; developing a Web site to disseminate logistics and information both before and after Workshop; ordering meals and refreshments for the reception, taking minutes and developing a Workshop Proceedings document; and coordinating the technologies (microphones, video, slides, overheads, recording of Workshop) for the event. We secured co-sponsorship from the DC Bar Association who arranged for the distribution of promotional materials to all members of the Environment and Natural Resources section of the DC bar. We also promoted the event through e-mails, developed a Conference Web site, and promotion within the Earth Science Information Partnership Federation, a public-private outreach program of NASA.
